It's no surprise that an air of expectation hangs heavy around Haze. With the revered team at Free Radical behind the code and with its extended gestation period, by rights this should be a stand-out title amongst the ever growing catalogue of PlayStation 3 exclusive first person shooters. Which makes it all the more disappointing that ultimately the end product is as puzzling as it is mediocre, a strange retroactive take on the genre that sees Free Radical seemingly happy to rest on their laurels and deliver an experience ripped from the backwaters of the last generation.
